FORTHCOMING ANZIBA – AIB OCEANIA COLLABORATIVE EVENTS
2026
to be confirmed
These events, initially as ANZIBA Annual Conferences, and more recently as ANZIBA – AIB Oceania Collaborative Events, has been running annually for 27 years. Throughout that period, the conferences have provided, and continue to provide, a critical regional forum for International Business researchers. It is a time to exchange ideas, a chance for junior scholars to hone their publication skills, for senior scholars to assist in that process, and for everyone to build and extend their personal networks. Most recently, the event has been scheduled in early November to co-inside with the end of the Australia and New Zealand academic years. We strongly encourage you to submit a paper for our next conference.
The meetings typically include:
- a doctoral consortium (DC): all day – typically on the day before the competitive sessions but is occasionally on the day after the competitive sessions. This is where PhD students are able to present their work-to-date, hone their presentation skills, and receive feedback from senior people in the field and their peers.
- early-career researcher (ECR) and mid-career reseacher (MCR) days: as with the DC event, the ECR and MCR events are typically days-long sessions held one or two days before the main conference, and are focused on issues that help academic develop successful and well-balanced academic careers.
- a paper development workshop (PDW): since our collaboration with the AIB Oceania Chapter began, we now include a paper development workshop in our pre-conference events. This is open to all academics, and allows them to get individualized feedback from senior scholars, and in particular, reviewers and editors from the Journal of International Business Studies (JIBS).
- a formal welcome and reception is held on the evening before the competitive sessions.
- two days are dedicated to a combination of competitive paper sessions, a plenary session and panels.
- a gala dinner is then typically held on the evening of either the first or second day of the main conference.
