SUBMISSIONS

The submissions for competitive papers and panels will close on Mon., 2 October 2023.

Submissions for the Doctoral Colloquium (DC) and the Early Career Researchers Consortium (ECRC) will close on Mon., 6 November 2023.

 

ANZIBA SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

 

COMPETITIVE PAPERS

All competitive paper submissions need to include:

  • A cover page including the title of the paper, the author name(s) and affiliation(s), the lead author email address, and a nominated track (number and name from the list above).
  • The second page of the submission should include the title and an abstract not exceeding 200 words, followed by the body of the paper.

Papers should be double-spaced, referenced and formatted in conformity with Journal of International Business Studies manuscript submission guidelines. All submissions will be subject to a double-blind review process.

By default, all accepted papers will be published on-line by ANZIBA, but it will only be accessible by conference attendees.  If you do NOT want your paper published in this manner, please inform the Track Chair at the time of acceptance.

 

PANEL PROPOSALS

Panel proposals must be submitted by the panel chair and include:

  1. A title page that includes the names and contact information for all participants and identifies their roles.
  2. An abstract, not to exceed 150-200 words, that summarizes the panel
  3. An overview statement of the theme of the panel.
  4. A 1 to 3 page description of the session format (e.g. paper presentations, round table, professional development workshop), with paper synopses where appropriate.
  5. Emails or signed letters from each participant, indicating s/he will participate if the panel is accepted.
  6. Panel proposals should be no more than 3,000 words inclusive of all materials.
  7. Each proposal must state, on its front page at the top right, the requested Track (number and title) and Panel Session Format.
  8. Submissions must be written with double-spaced text and a font size of 11 points or larger.

Panel proposals will be assessed by the Track Co-chairs.

 

DOCTORAL COLLOQUIUM SUBMISSIONS

The Doctoral Colloquium (DC) will be held on the first day of the conference (Wed., 15 February 2023) at the Deakin University CBD campus. There will be sessions involving presentations by doctoral students (who are registered and accepted for the DC), followed by discussions among all participants and academic mentors. The schedule of presentations by individual participants will be available one week prior to the conference.

About one week before the DC, all participants will receive copies of all the thesis/proposals that will be presented during the DC. It is expected that all DC participants will read every thesis/proposal and participate actively in the discussion.

To apply for the Doctoral Colloquium, students need to submit a summary of their thesis/proposal (maximum 5-page, single spacing) with the following details & headings:

  • Doctoral candidate – name, email, university affiliation, PhD area/discipline, number of years in the PhD program
  • Title of the thesis/proposal
  • Literature review/motivation for the research
  • Research question(s)
  • Potential contribution of the study
  • Theory underpinning the thesis/proposal, including the theoretical model and the hypotheses that will be tested in the study
  • Method – including constructs, measures, data collection, and data analysis
  • Preliminary results (if available), and study limitations

EARLY CAREER SCHOLARS CONSORTIUM APPLICATIONS

The Early Career Scholars Consortium (ECSC) is aimed at early career academics (up to eight years after earning a PhD and holding an academic position) who want to learn more about developing a successful and well-balanced academic career. Preliminary themes include balancing research, teaching and service/citizenship, engaging in collaborations, establishing and pursuing a rewarding research programme, seeking well-being and avoiding ill-being in academia. The consortium will provide an opportunity to network with peers and learn from experienced and highly successful academics.

Applications:

  • Submit a 1-page resume (PhD, job, research interests, courses taught, service roles you are engaged in) accompanied by 3-5 questions you have that are related to your career or academia in general.
  • Submissions should be made through the ANZIBA submission system.
