Official Notification and Call for Abstracts

You are cordially invited to submit an abstract to the ANZIBA China Governance and Management Forum, to be held on Friday 6th June 2008, with associated workshops on Saturday 7th June 2008, at RMIT University, in Melbourne. Invited speakers include Professor Helen De Cieri, Professor Peter Dowling, Dr Greg Fisher, Professor Chris Nyland, Dr Elizabeth Rose, Professor On Kit Tam, and Associate Professor Stephen Teo.

Forum topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Institutional reform and corporate governance in China

  • Chinese outward direct investment

  • The internationalisation strategies of Chinese MNEs

  • Organisational culture and management of Chinese firms

  • The Chinese expatriate experience

  • Re-entry experience of Chinese managers

  • Overseas Chinese firms entering the Chinese market

  • Environmental issues and sustainable development in China

  • Governance issues in Chinese family businesses

  • Dual listing, governance and performance of Chinese businesses

  • Ownership structure and performance

  • Corporate governance of state-owned enterprises

  • Governance issues arising from investment by Chinese sovereign investment funds

  • Challenges and issues in human resource management in China

  • Lessons for Chinese firms from Asian MNEs and 'Overseas Chinese' firms

  • The Chinese entrepreneur in China and overseas

Abstracts of no more than 500 words should be submitted to greg.fisher@rmit.edu.au. Please have as the subject of your submission email 'ANZIBA China Forum:[your family name]'. The submission deadline for abstracts is Friday 2nd May 2008.
